Ethnic Greeks to Protest Turkish Embassy in Lebanon



FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- December 7th, 2013

With the city of Maaloula under attack by Al-Qaeda forces, and 12 Greek Orthodox Nuns kidnapped, some members of the Greek Orthodox community in Lebanon have decided enough is enough. Members of the first and only ethnic Greek political party in the Middle East, the Levant Party, are mobilizing to protest Turkish involvement in the ongoing Syrian conflict.


On December 15th, members of the Levant Party plan to protest outside of the Turkish Embassy in response to continued Turkish aid to radical Islamists that are committing Genocide against the native Greek, Armenian, and Assyrian populations of Syria.

The protest comes just weeks after, Levant Party President Rodrigue “Dimitri” Khoury, returned from Russia where he spoke with lawmakers in the Russian Duma and officials in the Russian Foreign Ministry about the situation of Greek Orthodox in the Middle East.

The Levant Party is best known for its successful campaign to ban the Turkish Film “Fetih 1453” in Lebanon back in 2012 for inciting religious hatred.
